As I read my words, I am just filled with the warmth of the fantastic experience we had at the Upriver Cafe!
As we ate dessert, enjoying the brownie that was art to our pallets, we were treated to an amazing sunset that painted the sky and reflected on the river. It was an absolutely amazing experience in all aspects, BUT, there was more!

Our server (I think his name was Paul) was every bit as cordial and welcoming as Betsy and Andy. The food was fantastic! We had the ribs and the blue cheese sage chicken. We ordered dessert and, while we waited, a table by the rail of the porch, offering a better view of the sunset, opened and Betsy asked us if we would like to move to get a better view. (We never expected that offer!)
This is a quiet gem just a short hop from Lake George. New owners who clearly know how to run a restaurant. Sit outside and watch the Hudson River roll by. The food and service are outstanding. Definitely will go back again soon.

Really, really amazing food. Honestly some of the best I've ever had, period. The back deck has a spectacular view of the Hudson and Rockwell falls. Granted, I grew up in Lake Luzerne so I'll admit to being a little nostalgic about their location but you can't beat it. Friendly staff and prompt service. I wish I still lived there so I could be a regular, but I'll be sure to come back whenever I make the trip back home.
Great food, and the presentation is beautiful. The hostess and staff are charming and make you feel welcomed. The patio has a wonderful view of the river as well.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by both owners, Andy and Betsy. They were very pleasant and we started our meal with smiles and warm feelings of this welcoming restaurant before we were even seated. We had mentioned to the Betsy we came to watch the sunset over the mountain and river and we were seated on the porch in the back looking over the Hudson River. The view was beautiful!
As the temperature dropped, Paul (I so hope I am remembering his name correctly) brought blankets to all who were seated on the porch! This was just over the top!
